Trip to Dehradun

Hello folks. I'm back with a traveling post this time. I was just flipping through my photos and suddenly I remembered my younger cousin sisters who live in Dehradun. I know this post is bit late but as it is said "It's better to be late than never". Just after my birthday I happened to visit Dehradun in December 2012. I travelled all alone for the first time. Yes, ALL ALONE! ;)

I have been to Dehradun twice before but this trip was a memorable one for me as I could explore the city well and in the mean time I had spend my NEW YEAR up there in the hills with my little cousins! I caught my train from Delhi and imagine my situation that my seat was not confirmed and on the top of it travelling alone. Moreover, a generous handsome man gave his seat to me. I couldn't thank him enough. I made friends too en route. Reached at night around 9.30pm and was picked up by my relatives there. It was too cold, I remember I wore 2 jackets and 3 pairs of socks (I'm not kidding!) and was still FREEZING!!

DAY 1 : Anyways the next day, all refreshed up. I visited the famous SAI TEMPLE with my cousins. It was so divine believe me, I was all calm and relaxed.

The Palki
The Wishing Tree

After that it started raining heavily so we had no choice just to stay indoors as it was winters. We started clicking indoors itself. It was fun being with my lil cousins. We were meeting almost after a year so there was lot to chit chat and all that girly stuff. OK let me share few pics of my cousins with you all.

The youngest of all

P.S. : No photo is edited! You could guess by looking at our faces how cold it was!

DAY 2 : The next day weather was amazing so we thought to go a bit far off temple which was BUDDHA TEMPLE in Clement Town. It was bit far off from my place where I was staying. This was one kind of temple I would have never imagined. It was awestruck by its beauty. I loved visiting this one. If you ever go Dehradun please don't miss it for sure. It's a must see temple!

The view from the top floor. It was just amazing!

I thoroughly enjoyed going there. It has such a beautiful lawn just outside the temple.

The beautiful lawns

If you miss this beauty, your trip is incomplete to Dehradun for sure. Almost whole day was spent here as I had other relatives and friends to catch up with. Amazing day it was, all thanks to this masterpeice.

DAY 3 & 4 : This day was booked by the relatives for lunch and dinners. Now it was the New Year Night and also the birthday of the sister. What a co-incidence no ? It was double celebration for us New Year and birthday! And it was my first New Year there. Have lot of pics to share but would share sometime soon.

Surprised her with the cake!
The celebrations went on full night. We all didn't get the time to sleep. Next morning too we all partied hard like crazies all friends, relatives, neighbors, it was so much fun I tell you. At night we went to Pizza Hut and ended my celebrations there!

You can easily see how tired we all were!
After all these 4 days of grand masti, it was time for me to come to Delhi. Had my train early morning at 5 in these winters. I could just catch up the train at the neck of time! It was fun. How rapidly these 4 days went away. I still miss every moment of them. Late night talks, new year celebrations, my little cousins cooking for me, blah, blah everything! I miss them so much. Hope to celebrate my New Year this time too with them in the hills.

Signing off for now. Thank you for your patience! xoxox

PRESERVED

We wanted to bury the lie
Like tulips on cold spring days
it thrived well enough in the light
to make a new appearance

Took all the letters we found and
 put them in a jar
with boiling sea water
The salt sealed the writing but
made it less distinct!

Memories

Standing at a corner of the world, I witness the flashes of past memories and the only question that arises in my mind is about how everything completely changed it self. I'm at the same place where I stood last year but with new people and different circumstances. The reality of  life is that no matter how much I try to deny the fact, nothing remains the same with the passage of time. Time is what rules our life and its totally inevitable. Its like I was dreaming for the whole time, when awoke, the harsh reality took over cause the time had already played its game. Its hard to believe how life changed me and my priorities, and I got so involved into it that I don't even have time for those who once ruled my life.

Now, I've realized the importance of my past once it turned into a memory. Frankly, we humans are very insatiable and we're never satisfied with what ever is going on. But once, that phase of life is over, and you look back at it, past seems to be everything I've ever wanted. Everything has changed. Those close ones are like strangers now because someone else took their place, but there are no regrets because that's how it is. At the end of the day, you just stand in the corner, and stare at the whole new world full of memories from the past and there's nothing you can do about it.

"As we turn the pages of time, we discover hidden mysteries and triumphs in each new chapter. -- Flavia"

Do you even gamble with the memories like I do ?

The Life I'm Living Now :)

"All the world's a stage,
And all the men and women merely players:
They have their exits and their entrances;
And one man in his time plays many parts"

Shakespeare said that...let’s see how it applies in the normal college life...

A normal day in the normal college :p I am in the class, as usual not paying attention and lost in my own world of thoughts and words in a corner scribbling away to glory and half heartedly listening to what our guest faculty has to say.
Someone is playing with her pen, the tic-tac echoing around. There are people playing with their hair, some reading a book, a murmur of silence surrounds the whole classroom.
The backbenchers are as usual sitting behind. Discussing some things (I leave the topic of discussion for the readers to guess, but mind it, it was nowhere near boring). A giggle here, a giggle there, fills the whole back of the classroom.
The geeks a.k.a speckyees (now replaced by lenses) are sitting in front glued to every word he utters, noting down every syllable, every sigh, every a, an ,the, mentioned. The sleepers of the class a.k.a getting –bored-not-interested- are yawning and already half asleep, fighting to keep their eyes open and half of them perched on their neighbour’s shoulders. Suddenly they slip down the shoulder and realise that they are ain class and thus the lost fight to not sleep begins again.
Then there are the second or the third benchers, mediocre writing at times and at times looking bored, basically they are just confused wondering whether to be the geek or the outrageous back bencher. These are also known as the average normal kids. Then there are the male starved females (couldn’t find a better term) , who for today are next to the front benchers, batting their eyelashes , a half smile on their faces, pretending to be glued to every word said, lips tucked behind their teeth , they kind of swooning , as if every word he’s saying is the elixir of life.
Then the usual wannabees, fashionistas, jocks, nerds, all who need no introduction. Then the lovers without whom every class is incomplete. Who may be not sitting very close, are exchanging glances and smiles whose meaning only they know. Exchanging whispers, stares and smiles, oblivious to anything happening, around, just existing for each other. As cheesy as it sounds. It’s completely true.
A joke suddenly cracked bonding the whole class, while it lasts, every one listening to the same thing for a while, forgetting their roles in the class and being just a simple student for once. Well that it.
A subtotal of everyone present.
And then last but not the least “me”. What am I? In which category do I fall into? What am I doing here not concentrating on the lecture and observing the around and writing. Well you could say just a simple crazy foolish intelligent WORDISTA...

Smiling "FoReVeR"

Smiling Forever !!!
It's now I realised the heavy words " If you think you can , you can.If you think you can't,you can't"

I am going through this wonderful book by Rhonda Byrne " The Secret " which claims to change our lives.Life has all of a sudden become so easy..All I need to get anything in this Universe is "Think".
The Universe which works like a Genie for us.It says "Your wish is my Command".

So,when I hold on to negative thoughts , the universe conspires to bring all negative circumstances, negative incidents and events in my life.

All we need to do is Imagine ourselves enjoying the things we really desire in our lives !!! Be Grateful towards God for all that you have received than ever complaining about things you do not have.

Its a secret being carried forward since ages. All religious books and Great Legends have tried to explain us this phenomena.

It really works !!! I have tried it myself !!!

God have sent us all to do only what we want to do.There is no blackboard where he wrote "Geetanjali Juneja would be Blogging "It is me who thought and it became a Reality.

Its amazing to feel yourself like a Magnet which attracts what you think about the most...You can have anything in this world,All you need to do is Be what you want to be.Visualise ,Create pictures in your mind and the Universe would bring it back to you as you Future pictures.

If you can feel the Positivity in my words,Just go grasp a copy of "The Secrets "or "The monk who sold his Ferrari".

Feel yourself the Creator of you future...Just draw beautiful pictures in your life and see them as Reality.

Let Universe decide HOW ,all you got to do is Think..Think...and Think.....

Best regards,

........Forever

You came in. I wiped off my tears. You saw it all. Still you remained unmoved.Tickets, luggage everything was in place.

With each step, my life was drifting away from me.

Your words flashed across my mind. Those poignant words……“You cannot see my tears. That does not mean I don’t ever cry.”

I turned back, fathomed the depth of your eyes and vowed to be yours…Forever.

Happy Mother's Day

Moms are the sweetest gift from Gods to us. There is no way we can ever really thank our mother for all she does for us nevertheless we must make it a habit to keep reminding ourselves of the various sacrifices she made while raising us. Mothers' Day is the best time to say in words how much we love and care for our mum.

Mother's Day is special to all of us, isn't it? All of us look forward to this day to let our mummy dear know how special she is to us. But do you know just how this day came into existence; when was it first observed or who celebrated it first? If you don't, read on to know about the fabulous history of Mother's Day. You are sure to enjoy it.

The tradition of Mothers Day started with the ancient Greeks who celebrated their annual spring festival in honor of Rhea, the mother of many Gods and Goddesses in the Greek mythology. Ancient Romans too celebrated a spring festival by the name of Hilaria in honor of Cybele, a mother goddess, some 250 years before Christ was born.
Mother's Day is celebrated on second Sunday of May.The festival of Pâthâre Prabhu is celebrated on the same day only in Bombay and the Southern part of India . The Pathare prabhu caste always celebrates this holiday. It is based on a legend about a mother whose children kept dying after only one year of living and it has a very remote origin. Although it's also called "Mother's Day", it is unrelated to the modern celebration, which is copied from the US (second Sunday of May) and is celebrated in the whole country.

Here's a poem i wrote it a yr. back for her n thought to share it with all of u :)

A halo that reflects a life of
wisdom, kindness, and caring.
Eyes that sparkle with pride
and show how much she believes in you.
Shoulders that have been slept on
and wept on and
carried a world or two.
Arms that never run out of hugs.
Hands that know
just when to hold on
and when to let go.
A mind filled with amazing things,
from fairy tales to family tails
and long-ago stories of you.
A smile that can jump right into your heart
and warm you faster than hot chocolate.
A heart of gold
that holds more love
than you can possibly imagine.

I love u mom :)

Now have no more words to express my love but now my eyes are filled completely with the tears of joy that how lucky I am to have a great mummy :)

"My mom is a neverending song in my heart of comfort, happiness, and being.  I may sometimes forget the words but I always remember the tune." - Geetanjali Juneja

Live Life To The Fullest

Grow up with challenges
row the boat with practice
what you will get is
the life blossom.
None are the foes, none are the friends
but you are the one who is
either your foe or your friend.
Your goal should be alliteration
as to get the fascination
and the brazen world is your celebration.
Never play the haunting music of
othenticism
as it'll lead to criticism
legacy is all yours, if you live,
the world with opticism

It's a short poem with so much of deep meaning....do read it and let me know the feedback !
Thank you ! :)

Spiritual Education

"What sculpture is to a block of marble, education is to the soul."

In the past educators all over the world have placed tremendous stress on the intellectual & physical development of students. The result is that we have become human beings who are physically and intellectually superior. The amount of knowledge that we are gaining today is doubling at a much faster rate than it did previously. So we find that we have become very materialistic in our approach towsrds life.

To bring about the right kind of balance in the life today our educators need to lay equal emphasis on spiritual aspect of education.

Spirituality deals with developing the higher values of life and becoming a complete person. Spirituality means inculcating love in our heart irrespective of skin color, religion, or nationality.

It is important that spiritual and ethic values are taught properly in the school along with their syllabus. In our school, our teachers had taken a small but strong step to achieve this by introducing students to the process of meditators. Through meditators we not only develop the higher human values but we also realise our true selves and gain knowledge about our spiritual side.

So the true education is the one which develops all the three spheres of human personality i.e. physical, intellectual & spiritual. This will help our students to develop into a complete individual individual, who will always make good decisions that will benefit the entire humanity.

Does The Dream Come True

Standing in the middle of the mountain
up on me is falling snow
river of love is flowing
standing by my side, the women i know
when she holds me in her arms
the sun goes down and the night comes up high
she means so much to me..without her I cant survivie
When i open my eyes, I found myself all alone
scared of the dark and no one to hold

I have a question for you
does the dream come true
breathing in the air of love it feels so pure
see as far as you want to but will not see hate
anymore
tears of blood are not pouring, there is no need to cry
Because no longer fray anymore in which someone
dear can die

No need to close your eyes, no need to close your ears
Everything you don't want to see or hear has been
washed away in the past years
When i open my eyes, i found myself living living in the
world where hate and fray is above faith and love
I have a question for you
Do the dreams come true ?

This is my first poetry...do let me know how is it..
thanx :)
Regards to everyone !
